i've even called up my dad's home insurence to see if they will cover it and they wont because i'm away for more than 60 days . i cant add it onto my travel inurence because it's over a year old , please help , thanks Hollie

The only ways I know are for your parents to transfer their contents cover to Zurich Insurance who providing you normally live with your parents will cover personal possesions (Including your lap top) away from the home with no time limit. (Your parents would need to include unspecified personal possession cover).
I doubt whether your parents want to go to this trouble so the only other way is to take out a travel insurance but they will probably only cover the lap top for around £300 and will deduct wear and tear when they pay a claim.
Have you asked your First Choice superviser as they may know someone who offers this cover as the other reps may have had this problem before.
P.S To replace a lap top you paid £700 a year ago for is likely to be around £300 to £400 on current prices for an equiuvalent lap top0 -
