As I said other ones are around its just that the Drayton had the same footprint as my existing room stat.
Anywho here are the installation and operating instructions, as the above poster says its just two wires.

Another alternative to assist with your savings is a combi-boiler. My current house doesn't have one but my other did and the difference is amazing specifically in the water area. I don't have your problem with timing as my heating is separated from my water (although there are gains to heat water at the same time as the heating is on due to efficiency of a running boiler).
The current combi boilers have an efficiency of approaching 95% these days and depending on your house/family and lifestyle, having hot water instantly, whenever without having to wait for it to warm in a tank is good. You can also run a show from these too although not a powershower as far as I know. It would also free some space as you'd no longer need a tank or the water tank that fills in which is usually in the loft i.e. no big tank of water to freeze and burst in the winter! :-)0
