Critical Illness or Permanent Health Insurance to protect mortgage

I just need some advice on CIC and PHI.
I don't have either at the moment, but having a family I feel it would be sensible to take something out. My partner and I are both healthy, which kind of leads me away from critical illness cover. However PHI would interest me because I believe this would pay out should I be unable to work due to an injury/illness.
I am 29, partner is 36 - both non smokers and healthy.
Could anyone advise which plan would be better?

There is a small overlap with each but they are very different. So, its not a case of which you should choose but how much with each.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
