I agree, she does try hard to be different. I'm by no means a fan but she actually CAN sing, unlike many others these days; I've heard her warm up and rehearse. At least she'll be remembered, better that than to be forgotten I guess.

It's a shame she wastes her voice on nonsense songs, although she sounded wobbly on an MTV performance. I think she was trying too hard to sound like Christina Aguilera.

Much better to be remembered. Britney will be remembered for many reasons, even if she's not the strongest singer, great performer and of course the added 'character' that she is.

Could be worse, could be Kanye 'Autotune' West :p

Just out of interest, with downloads, do you literally just get an MP3 file?

The truth is, I don't know. I never download. I like having the actual CD (all 8000+ of mine!).

As for music, I'm into Neil Young, Bob Dylan, The Eagles, Paul McCartney, etc but I still listen to the modern stuff (willingly if it's good, grudgingly if it's rubbish and I'm stuck somewhere with it, eg when working at football games).

I buy the CD's too. I like having the official CD and it feels like you are supporting the artist more, not that the charts are a fair reflection of any song/artist. So few singles are sold these days and they are always priced differently, promoted differently, airplayed differently and in some shops, not even put on the shelves.

I know downloads are cheaper, but I just can't get my head around the advantage in any other way, so buy the CD's - I don't have 8000 though, maybe 1000 of which half will be Britney (multiples). I just don't find much these days that I like, so most of my stuff is old school Def Leppard, Bon Jovi etc, with a little current music (Britney, Kelly Clarkson, Cascada, Scooter)

The problem with modern day music, is alot of them sample really old cheesy music. Flo Rida is a current culprit with his 'da ba dee dubba die, dubba dee dubba die' and T.I with his 'Mai a Hee, Mai a huu, Mai a Haa' and Ironik and Chipmunk's take on 'Tiny Dancer by Elton John. Unbelievably bad cover versions.

At 29p, I can see why people go for the downloads, if you only really want the song of an artist you don't normally support etc. It's good value indeed, so nice find OP.

I'll jump off my soapbox now. I just can't stand tacky covers and samples ;)

I know this will be very useful for most users. I like to see all my CDs on the shelves, and I love the artwork (sometimes on the CD, and always in the sleevenotes). Music is so important to me that I take it very seriously. :)

The scary thought for me, is that they stop physical sales one day and they all become download.

The main reason I buy CD's, is because it's official and hopefully shows an appreciation to the artist, although they barely get 1% income from CD sales.

I know someone who has gigabytes of music on his PC, from downloads.

    I hope he backs up!

Okay, a question or 4 for Beatlefan or anyone in the digital know...

I have found one track i'd like to download.

    1. Do I have to download the software they ask me too?

    2. Can I pay for just 1 track, or do I have to top up £10 or something?

    3. Can I attach my download into an e-mail, so I can send it to someone to perk them up?

    4. If my PC packs up (and it is struggling atm) do I have to pay again to get the track, or does it stay on file or something for me to download again for free, for a short period?

Thnaks to anyone who is able to help :)

I have found one track i'd like to download.

    1. Do I have to download the software they ask me too? Contrary to previous answer - No

    2. Can I pay for just 1 track, Yes or do I have to top up £10 or something? No

    3. Can I attach my download into an e-mail, so I can send it to someone to perk them up? You can but you may not (just as you can lend a physical single to a friend but it is technically a breach.) Electronic gift tokens are available.

    4. If my PC packs up (and it is struggling atm) do I have to pay again to get the track, Not necessarily or does it stay on file or something for me to download again for free, for a short period? Yes (I've left a bag of albums on the subway. I've stood on albums. In neither case could I claim a refund from the shop.)

Thnaks to anyone who is able to help :)

    Thanks to both of you.

In the interest of living by the law, I may just send a card from moonpig instead.

If anyone is going to get caught for sending a 29p mp3 via e-mail and then get prosecuted, it will be me
