According to webbuser.co.uk, Amazon has started selling songs from chart-topping bands from 29p in a new promotion from its MP3 store.

The promotion applies to a 10-track selection from bands including Coldplay, The Killers and Morrissey. The other bands and artists in the 29p promotion include, Kings of Leon, Lady GaGa, The Prodigy, Kelly Clarkson, The King Blues, The Saturdays, and Eminem, Dr Dre and 50 Cent.

All tracks on the retail site are available free of DRM (digital rights management) technology.

See the songs here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/feature.html/ref=s9_al_c6_feat?ie=UTF8&plgroup=2&docId=1000249813&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-6&pf_rd_r=106NF62NJRZR8JWEG5CB&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=467055593&pf_rd_i=77197031

I found the songs by going to the Amazon MP3 homepage and clicking on the songs under 59p option on the left-hand side. Scroll down the list of songs that comes up and you'll find the 29p ones spread out over the listings (which do go on for a few pages). I also found some classical tracks for 29p.

Edit: On searching through the site a bit more, using the filter MsChocoholic suggests below, I found literally hundreds of classical music tracks for 29p!!! Bargain!

Searched: Amazon Mp3s 29p

    Thanks, just looking through now.
If you click on the "price" heading it sorts them for you, cheapest first

Sorry to bump, but using the filter Ms Chocoholic suggests above, I found literally hundreds of classical music tracks in the Amazon Mp3 store (well over a thousand, before I gave up looking!!) - all for 29p !!!!

And these aren't all short extracts either, many run for at least 30-40 minutes, some as much as an hour's worth of music. I'm more of a rock and pop fan myself, so not sure how much classical music sells for on-line anywhere else, but this seems a good deal to me.

Hope it helps someone who likes their classics! :D

Thought I'd bump this thread as it's just saved me some money :T. I've had an iPod for several years and have always used iTunes Store to buy mp3s - it was convenient, easy to use and I did not know any better.

However my iPod has started playing up lately and, rather than buying a new one, I've decided to download my mp3s onto my mobile phone (nokia n95 8gb) and use that instead. I was badly surprised when I discovered I could not just transfer all the mp3s I'd bought off iTunes Store onto the Nokia  because of DRM protection so I looked for alternatives for future downloads and via this thread found Amazon mp3s. I had a list of 26 tracks to download. Several of those cost 0.79p on iTunes but only 0.29p on Amazon, the rest were all 10p-30p cheaper than iTunes! In total, the 26 tracks would have cost me £21.94 on iTunes but on Amazon they cost me £16.74 - that's a £5.20 saving, not huge on the face of it but it all adds up if like me you get a bit carried away when you update your music library a few times a year !

The Amazon downloader is dead easy to use and automatically imported the new tracks into iTunes. I have just listened to the tracks on my Nokia and they sound just fine.

Click on the 'time' column heading (or at least look at it) - some of the classical songs are just 2 or 3 seconds long!

    Die Zauberflöte, K.620 0:02 £0.29 (that's about 15p per second)!

Not sure poking Manly Gaga's face would be interesting, but must say I noticed the insert as well and was highly amused.

I've seen her in person; I was working at an event she was performing at. She's quite pretty...shame she ruins it all with the wacky outfits but that's her trademark, unique selling point and making her loads of money....

Well, this is it, all about image. I don't know what she's like in person, but she comes across as trying too hard to be cool and different. One of those acts who people will look back in a few years at, and cringe, although that could be said of alot of todays acts.

Still, she likes Britney, so she has one good point, even if she has mens legs (Gaga that is) :o
