It is the same for all councils and even places like exhibition centres. I tripped over at a huge exhibition centre close to me because due to my visual impairment I hadn't noticed a dip in the path again this was less than an inch - I fell and broke my elbow in two places. The decision was made after contacting said exhibition centre and looking at the highways act that it wasn't worth persuing - accidents happen its just one of those things.

Yes the stop !!!! is slightly sunken but it is clear that there is space to walk around it and to step over it without this causing a problem. By all means write a letter to the council or even speak to your local councillor but don't be surprised if they don't agree. Sorry your mum is battered and bruised but accidents happen - that's life I am afraid.

You mum should have looked where she was going, simple. My mum had a trip a few years back and hurt her hand because her heel caught in a gap in the pavement, same happened to me once as well and my shoe broke. In addition I have fallen on icy pavements several times and ended up with bruises but I'm not going to blame anyone for it, I should have been more cautious and wore shoes with better grip.

As far I'm concerned !!!!! happens, thats life, get over it.

I'm sorry for your Mum but accidents happen every day, if everyone sued then the country would grind to a halt.

As I've said in the past, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Posts like this only serve to make it more obvious just how ignorant you are.

I know exactly what I'm talking about because my trade insurance has trebbled thanks to the low lifes behind the UK's compensation/claim managment industry.

I sell it, I assume you have a premises policy rather than road risks. The prices have been coming down for the last few years due to competition in the market. You could get a cheaper quote from another company ring your own company up and they would undercut it. If you have never shopped around then your premium would have been increasing a fare amount

I know the Norwich Union and Allianz have been losing money on their motor trade book but have bitten the bullet and matched or undercut quotes to keep their market share as they know the market will turn eventually.

The prices have started going up in the last few months and are reckoned to go up by about 10% to 20% over the next 18 months

You know, brooker has only given the clearest advice, the rest of you are so narrow minded it's untrue... jesus, you might aswell be the goverment of this country. As clear as daylight you can see what has happened, you might aswell work for the !!!!s that maintain these streets and roads. You might aswell let this happen year in, year out... don't worry if you break your neck, next year you can do your leg. If no one answers then we're saving money.

I suppose thats ok though, we'll let all the other nations into our country, let them take charge. Sure you won't mind that. You might aswell make a post about being racist.

Your attitude really shows how this country is going, and i really don't give a !!!! what you say, you are totally out of order. This might aswell happen everyday.

Someone is to blame and some of you say that people should look where they are walking, that is such a poor comment you really shouldn't have been born.

Who the !!!! walks down the road for 65 years, knowing where there walking. This is someone who has lived and breathed england. Jesus, it's pretty poor is that the way you live your life with your attitude.

You originally came into this thread wanting help in relation to a potential claim. You didn't know anything about the law or the procedure. You have been given that advice, much of which was given before you actually posted the pictures, for free by people taking up their time to help you. Now because the advice is not what you wanted to hear, you are acting like a petulant child and lashing out at everyone else.

I have sympathy for your mother. I really do, and it's understandable that you'd be frustrated about this. But the only person who is out of order in this thread is you.
I know exactly what I'm talking about because my trade insurance has trebbled thanks to the low lifes behind the UK's compensation/claim managment industry.

So in the space of two hours and twelve minutes you've gone from knowing about your insurance, to suddenly knowing about everybody's insurance. Impressive.

Other than showing everyone that you're incapable of shopping around to find a cheaper premium, you're proving very little here.

Hang on a minute - you are the person who came here asking for FREE advice not the other way round. You are only upset because no one has actually agreed with you although we have been sympathetic. I wonder if your mother knows that you have been breaching her human rights by publishing photographs of her bodily parts in an open forum, I bet she doesnt! That action young lady (or man I have no idea what sex you are) is positively despicable. So before you start casting aspertions about the rest of us you should look to yourself first - one wonders why you didnt help your mum and point out that the service was uneven - some daughter or son you are!!

As for immigrants - no one has mentioned them so one wonders if you are xenophobic:confused: Sometimes immigrants are necessary because they do the jobs that you wouldnt do.

I am truly appalled at your behaviour towards those on here and towards your poor mother.
