as long as your policy has national recovery, they will at least tow you any distance, i'm sure it's AA that tow you so far then another vehicle takes over, that can sometimes take a while to get home, I don't know much about RAC but green flag tow you all the way if they can't fix the vehicle, but there all kind of similar0

If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

cheers mrbadexample i was just looking @ GEM motoring assist (reclaim) at just over £80 but was struggling a bit with all the shpiel, it looks like autoaid (reclaim) for £37 could be the 1 for me, most of my commuting is local and basically only need it for our holiday for peace of mind, ive paid over £400 for my holliday and so basically need to get to my destination or the Mrs and kids would kill me. Has anyone used this company before as some feedback would be very grateful, my main worry is breaking down on the way there/home and having to pay massively for being taken to my destination/home.POWER TO THE PEOPLE - STICK IT TO THE MAN!0

I love your choice of name IHBG, I'm surprised no one had taken it before you.
There is a long thread about Auto Aid in the Insurance section of MSE, you can do a search of forums if you want to find it. The feed back generally seem good on Auto Aid but you have to make sure you can afford to pay the breakdown company as you pay it and then reclaim it0 -

AUTOAID THREADDon`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
just ordering online with autoaid and it mentions " Vehicles covered are any saloon car, hatchback, estate car, car derived van or motorcycle.
Motorised caravans will only be covered if they do not exceed 2.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight or 2500cc" do you think it will cover my 1996 Landrovery Discovery XS 3.9L V8i LPG (approx 2 3/4 ton)?POWER TO THE PEOPLE - STICK IT TO THE MAN!0 -

Best to phone them and ask, if they say yes, I would ask them to confirm via letter or e-mail, just in case! Or you could e-mail them the question and hopefully get an e-mail response.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
I have Green Flag insurance and when I needed them they were so helpful (and fast)." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."
