Laminate floor underlay?

Hi I am laying new floor boards and am going to put laminate flooring on the top.

I wish to use 7mm fibreboard insulation under the laminate but was wondering if I could double these up to 14mm to get it to the same floor level as the rest of the house?

UNDERLAY HERE

Any advise would be appreciated :)

I don't see a reason why not, just make sure you lay the top set of boards at 90 degrees to the bottom set...

Two layers of fibreboard should be fine, as long as they are laid in opposite directions to each other, and are fixed securely. I would still recommend a laminate underlay on top of it though.
