You SOA suggests that you have almost £300 left at the end of the month. Bet you don't see any of this, do you?
Perhaps start a spending diary and write down everything you spend. This may:
1) Help you see where the extra is going
2) Stop you spending on unnecessary things.
Well done for taking the first step.0 -
And i dont mean "pot" as in drugs lol. Just seemed to have disappeared. Things got on top of each other etc
But thanks guys, im actually feeling better already that people are emailing in so quickly. Hopefully I will be able to help some people too when I have found my feet again.
I would also recommend to anyone feeling stressed to try mediation. Ive went from drinking a litre a day of vodka and 60 fags to 15 a day and no booze. Still have the same problems I guess as I did, but I feel much better about life in general. I know I have a huge mountain to climb but you only get to the top one step at a time.0 -
I know it basically all goes to cigarettes or just random magazine's or something to cheer me up at the weekend. But I am wanting to sink as much as possible into the debt per month (credit cards) which would give me about £80-£100 extra a month to put towards my loans.0

definitely try the snowball calculator at www.whatsthecost.com and a spending diary - will really help to focus your mind and it acts as a great motivator!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. what do you guys think is better to do?
My credit cards are a £750 and £2000. Payments are £18 and £45 each month. They have pretty much the same APR (24%!). I have around £250-£300 to put towards them each month. Which one should I go for though?
I was thinking the smaller one first as it gets another thing off my debt sheet and makes me a bit happier feeling that Im actually getting somewhere.0 -
barclays was doing a deal for all existing customers. Ring up and you may be offered a 6.9% low life balance transfer but watch out as the y will keep that little bit of old money at 24.9%, so cut that back as far as possible first. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

i know I have a bonus coming up in the next month or two that will hopefully be about £400. Add to that my £500ish saved up over the 2 months I could completely clear it so for the sake of the transfer I dont think its worthwhile.
I got a bit of good news there. I phoned up my Loan that I had guestimated at £9000 and they gave me a settlement figure of £7827. So already I have shaved off over a grand from my debt.
Feeling much better after that.0 -
            Hello and welcome!
Have you spoken to your family doctor about how you have been feeling? Many people 'self-medicate' stress or low mood with alcohol, drugs, nicotine or gambling (delete as appropriate). He or she should be able to help you with giving up smoking too - medication/ one-one-one advice/ group support which is usually completely free and will double your chances of success.
Hopefully you have read around this fabulous board, and seen that you are a long way from being in the in the worst mess and realised that not even the craziest sounding debt insurmountable. I don't believe that this year of your life is a write-off - you are going to learn things from this website that will stand in good stead for the rest of your life and have some laughs along the way!! Look back in six months and you will be helping others follow along the same Debt-free Wannabe path as you. :ADeclutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Yeah i have saw the doctor about it and a psychologist and they seem to think im on the straight and narrow again although i am still a bit wobbly. But thats life eh? Just so much things to deal with all at the one time takes its toll. But thanks I do hope to be helping other people once im out of this myself and also planning a new career change when I get out of debt. One that isnt so money focussed too!
