    Hi

    Thanks everyone for the replies.

I will try to upload a pic of one of the t-shirts in question, I'm not exaggerating - both back and front are covered in holes!

I did check the baskets quite carefully and underneath but couldn't see anything troublesome looking. There was a pile of dust behind but have hoovered that up.

Have bought some mothballs in case it is moths.

If it is carpet beetles what is the best way to treat it?

To be honest, we thought moths went for woollen items rather than cotton? It was so shocking we thought might it be mice but we have seen nothing, it's an upstairs/attic room and we have a cat so I'm sure mice wouldn't stand a chance. Plus no evidence of droppings or such like.

    Very mysterious....

I once had loads of clothes with tiny holes in and couldn't work out what it was. It turned out to be the metal underwire from a bra that had come out in the washing machine and worked its way down into one of the filter holes in the machine, catching clothes as they spun. Washing machine man said it was fairly common!:o

Funny this post should come up. I have a favourite tee shirt that when I was ironing this afternoon noticed had half a dozen tiny holes - almost like puncture holes - in the front. It's happened once before with a similar fabric tee shirt...and it was definitely my washing machine that caused it. I remember noticing as soon as I took it out of the machine, cos it was new, and I wanted to make sure it hadn't shrunk. Both from Matalan by the way...and both went back (well, the latest one is going back tomorrow)

Can't really apply to yours though..as one of them hadn't even been through the wash.
