Originally I signed up to TT’s free E/W calls tariff [no monthly charge for 12 months]. After 11 months I spoke to TT’s Customer Retentions department, haggled and received 6 months free tariff extension.
Last week [with less than one month remaining] I again contacted TT’s
Customer Retentions Dept and explained that I had been very happy with the service they had provided but Primus Saver were offering free E/W calls, at no monthly charge, indefinitely and I would be switching my account to them unless TT would match it.
I was kept on hold for 5/10 minutes before being informed that my free E/W calls tariff at no monthly charge had been extended for a further 12 months,
effective immediately.
I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised. Like they say, if you don’t ask,
you don’t get.
Note: signing up for TT’s own line rental monthly charge was NOT part of this deal.
I will continue to pay BT for my line rental.
I would urge any MoneySaver wanting to do the same, not to give up at the first attempt. I contacted TT’s Customer Service department 4 times. Attempts 1 to 3,
I was informed that there would be no further tariff extension and that I would be charged £3.99, per month, commencing March 06. When I asked to be transferred to their Customer Retentions department I was informed that there would be no point as their response would be the same. On my 4th attempt [having been told the same]
I insisted on being transferred to Customer Retentions which produced the result above.

Mine also runs out on 6th March after having a free 12 and a further 6 months. I did not even bother to phone again, but signed up for Primus and being switched over to them on 27th Feb so that I don't have to keep remembering to beg for another extended free period with TalkTalk0

My 12 months was up in the middle of January. I've just got round to checking it the next bill, and it says that I've been given another 12 months free evenings & w/e's. That's without asking.Nice to save.0
