A friend of mine stopped after just one session of hypnosis. She's never gone back, and she was quite a heavy smoker for many years.
Best of luck - you'll feel so much better (and richer of course)I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

As I said in the daily thread about an hour ago - there are many threads on giving up smoking - one of the longer support threads is in the link below:-

Reading! Lots and lots of reading. Educate yourself against your addiction, it's the best way.
Look here: http://groups.msn.com/FreedomFromTobaccoQuitSmokingNow It's completely free and has no connection to tobacco or pharmaceutical companies. There is even a colour-in picture you can print off to help you get through the 72 hours of physical withdrawal. May sound silly but it's the little things that can really help at first.
And look up dedicateddesigns.com for a quit keeper which will keep track of your fab achievements.
Here're mine

Not so much for keeping your mind off them, but if you're really craving one, deep breathing really helps. I know it sounds strange, but it just does.

I really want to quit too, I've tried so many times, even lasted 6 weeks once. I bought the Allen Carr book last year but that didn't work as the kids got me so irritated whilst I was trying to read it that I had to go and have a fag
I'm thinking of investing £160 and going to the Allen Carr clinic in Cardiff. They give you a full guarantee that if you don't quit smoking after the first session they will give you as many free sessions as you need until you do, they reckon no one has ever needed a third session. Considering how much I spend over the course of a year in fags then £160 investment will save me a fortune in the long run.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
