Pinecone Survey - Virus within

I received a survey from Pinecone this afternoon - excellent I thought as I haven't had one for a while.
Well I got so far and there was a virus inside it - a Javascript one.
I tried to do the survey on both Firefox and IE but same problem both times.
I had just run my anti-virus this morning with no threats and have it running again right now.
I have contacted Pinecone but has this happened to anyone else?

To be honest it sounds more like a problem with the ArtistScope plugin that Pinecone have had us all install to continue surveys with them. I think that that might be flagged up as a Javascript issue.
A quick google shows you're maybe not alone judging by this forum post
I have to say that when I first downloaded the plugin it caused IE to close down a few times. But then it was okay and I've since managed to complete a survey for them with no problems. What virus software are you running?Yeah, whatever. I'm a grown up, I can take it...0 -
Thanks for that.
Anyone know how to get around this problem then?
Edit - I am running AVG0 -
The only thing I can think of for the time being is to try doing the survey with your virus programme disabled just for the duration of the survey. I'm sure, however, that there are wiser and more tech savvy people around who can offer help. Maybe try posting on one of the technical forums if no joy here?Yeah, whatever. I'm a grown up, I can take it...0

I'm running AVG as well, but have had no problems since downloading the plug in.Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0

I have had a virus/spyware detected this evening whilst trying to open a pinecone survey. I have emailed them - I am using Sophos, but mine came up as spyware.0

Dont know if anyone here can tell me if the artistscope plug in pinecone sent us to download is causing my dns errors
Cannot find "http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=141"
DNS Error - Server cannot be found
They turn up if I'm on this forum not straight away but when I'm swapping pages or threads, it will give this then I go back with the arrow and it goes back to normal then happens again 2 or 3 pages later. I think it could be the artiscope plug in as I had absolutely no errors directly before downloading the artistscope plug in
Any idea how to fix this? I have flushed my dns through cmd prompt and repaired in local area connectionsThanx

I am having the same problem. I emailed Pinecone about it but have had no response. I have had a reminder to do the survey however - not sure if it's worth me emailing again. What happens if you don't complete a survey for them, do they kick you off the panel?0

I believe it just a general technical difficulty that has issued possible a worm or something. I say best avoid the surveys until the problem is resolved.0

See this thread, especially Post #33. It seems lots of people are having problems with this plug-in

I have avoided it because I don't want any problems. It's a shame really, because it was one of the best survey companies around, but I feel the risk is just not worth it.Don't wait for the storm to pass

I have had problems with Internet Explorer since I downloaded the Artscope software - I kept getting 'Internet Explorer has encountered a problem' and had to shut down my browser. I uninstalled the Artscope software earler today, I am waiting to see if that improves things. Its a pity to have to give up Pinecone, the £3 luncheon vouchers came in handy!0
