Second the 'getting them from the GP' tip - if you are too embarrassed then you can go to either your local Family Planning (think they are officially called FPC or something now though) or one that isn't local to you at all and get them totally gratis as well - all sorts of shapes sizes and even flavours (or at least at mine you can get different flavours and ribbed and stuff, so guessing this is everywhere - you can definately get free 'normal' condoms there).

If you buy cheap ones off the internet make sure that tha "Use By" date is on the silver packet....some arnt. The fruit flavour/coloured ones sometimes have "Only to be used as a "Toy", not as a birth control method????? on the box........but not on the "silver packet"!!
