I am concerned because since I started earning over 15k in April 2008 I have not made any repayments through PAYE. I work for a very small employer based outside the UK and they never got their act together to inform the payroll company (even though I told them they were supposed to), but over the last year I made a couple of elective repayments, by cheque, at way over what I would have paid through PAYE. So at the time I thought a) It wasnt my responsibility b) I was actually making repayments just not in the normal way. Unfortunately my work has just made me in charge of payroll so now it IS my responsibility!! I'd like to know whether it's worth me bothering to go through all the hassle of correcting the situation when I'm the only one who'll come out of it worse off! And if SLC do find out eventually, whether they will chase me for what I owe through PAYE or whether this was cancelled out by my voluntary repayments.
Thanks for any help.
At least we've got the new 2% repayment rate to celebrate... silver linings...

Make sure that your repayment in total are equal or greater than you should have paid through PAYE.
Then from the start of the new financial year do things properly................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0
