Travel Insurance

Does anyone know of a reputable company that will offer travel insurance for a 17 year old going away on own for a month (Ecuador) that will also cover me & hubbie going on separate holiday at same time (Thailand)?
So we need an annual policy that also covers for independent under 18 year old traveller. Cheers in advance.

PJ Hayman do an annual multi trip policy that covers your children to travel independently from their parents (Most companies do not cover this). They will rate your son/daughter as a child under 18 or 23 if they are in full time education

They also include cover if the airline or hotel go bust which is another unusual cover.

Their prices are competitive but will probably not be quite the cheapest on the market but it is a good policy.

I don't work for Haymen but they are one of the companies I sell and I chose them for my own cover

All the "off the peg" annual travel policies sold online by click4quote.com allow for independent child travel.

Cheer Quentin, I'll have to remember them for next time I get a similar question.

They look like they are something to do with AUL as its the same address as have some of their old travel policies on the site. Do you know if they are?

No - very hard to keep on top of who owns who!

The similarities on the site are uncanny, they offer all the same types of property insurance eg unoccupied etc, the same types of travel policy eg The Mariners Policy and even PA & Sickness.

It might be a direct arm that Towergate have started since they took AUL over
