Hi all
I have recently applied to an HNC Social care course and phoned SAAS to enquire about fees and because I had funding previously for an HNC and dropped out of the course (3 years ago) they say they wont pay them but i would get another loan! I'm not really bothered about the loan just the fees as I am in part time work and cant really afford to pay it.
Can someone give me some advice on other funding?
Thanks

I know SAAS and local authorities are quite strict about fee support, so it's unlikely you'll get any further forward from them.
Have you tried the career development loan? I'm not sure what the criteria is to receive this, but you could try. Co-op, Barclays and HSBC do this I think.0 -
Sorry ignore that post, I've just realised you'll get the student loan.
I'm not sure you'll get anything for fees that you won't need to pay back.0 -
Thanks for that. Just checked it out, can't get a CDL as its England only and I'm in scotland and I won't get a student loan as I will only be studying part-time
think I'm stuck lol

CDLs are for Scottish students as well. Also you can get funding if you're a P/T student0

It's the Co-op bank, Barclays and RBS, not HSBC as I thought.0

SAAS will only give you four years worth of fees (five if you have really good mitigating circumstances) so they won't pay for a year you have already used. You will need to find a way to pay for the fees by yourself, be this from savings or from a job. If you work full time for a few months you should be able to save enough to cover your expenses.0
