lol, damn it
I was dithering about the ending....and typical, I picked the wrong one...I shall go and change it now lol, lest some other unsuspecting bod click on it.
http://www.bsguk.org is the forum/site I frequent...if you go to the gallery there's some fantastic cakes on there...most of the cupcakes are done using that nozzle, and it really does make a difference to the swirl. Proud DFW Nerd 135 :cool:Sealed Pot Challenge - 0190 -
Cool thanks. I went on the site and think I am being dim but which section are the nozzles in? I did a search and it didnt come up? Fab site tho and will defo check out that other forum tonight.
Another two questions if you dont mind me asking. If cream is bad is cream cheese icing (Soft cheese, mascarpone, ricotta etc) a nightmare too? What about butter icing?
My other question is about your business - do you do it full time? Do you work from home?
Thanks again0 -

That's the nozzle used for cupcake swirls - sorry, should have really done it before
The forum, you do need to register before you can view, but it's just a usual registration form, and free.
Hmmm, I'm unsure about cream cheese/soft cheese actually - I don't think there would be a problem (as cream cheese is used on carrot cakes regularly), but it would be something I'd have to check out (I don't use it, so I haven't paid any attention lol, sorry!) Buttercream icing, 100% fine. I use it on my sponge cakes, and also my cupcakes. Because butter has a long date (usually), and doesn't *have* to be refridgerated, then it doesn't cause any issues. If you do register on the forum, have a look at the recipe for Italian meringue buttercream. It's made with whisked egg white subsitute, sugar syrup and butter. Makes lovely light, fluffy, tasty swirls
(by the way, I don't take any responsiblity for weight gain due to the need to test out nearly all the recipies on the site lol)
I do work from home, in both my full time job, and my own business  I'm such a hermit lol. I'd love to do it full time, but that's a big step - I'm not prepared to loose the security of a salaried job just yet. I'm just starting out/building business up too...so we can be buddies if you like lol. Proud DFW Nerd 135 :cool:Sealed Pot Challenge - 0190 -

As you're in Kent, you may want to mosey along to the Squires Exhibition on 20-22nd March, in Farnham. IT has a chocolate room

Thanks again Laura, if I will PM you will you send me some pics of your creations?0 -
Ah that's a shame - though there are plenty of exhibitions throughout the year (culminating in the mecca that is the Sugarcraft show at the NEC in November....I'm excited already lol).
Of course - I've only just sorted out a decent camera and a way to photograph so they look semi-professional, so there isn't many (yet
). Proud DFW Nerd 135 :cool:Sealed Pot Challenge - 0190
