Not sure how much it has changed but we went 8 years ago and "hired" a taxi and the driver for £6 for the day - 9am to 7pm and covered about 200 milesThere are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

Booked last night for another trip, we only returned 6 weeks ago. 3 star allocated on arrival from Manchester 14 days for £250 each. Roll on Monday night.0

Always carry dollars, as pound is higher currency, giving dollars will feel you comforatable, carry lots of 1 dollar bills, for any tips, you will get better service than giving tips in Rupees.0

who are u going with for that price?? sounds great. I cant wait to go back.0

Its a case of flexibility, surfing the sites and keeping your eye on which firms seem to have the surplus, price up thro the different sites, always try the holiday company direct, sometimes they are cheaper. Try booking for 8 adults, then 6 and jump in before they disappear, doesn,t always work but we've had return flights for £95 (14days), a week for £129. We got the millienium package for £399.
This one is with 1st Choice it was up for £199, but with the extras cost £252 each. it's a 3star allocated on arrival, if we don't like the choice we'll just rent an apartment/rooms somewhere we like, have a few days in palm huts up north.0 -
sounds great. I been looking at flights etc for november, but they r well overpriced. I suppose i just have to wait for nearer the time and go for the lastminute deals do i?? i would prefer flights only and then book direct with hotel as def want to go back to same one, so will the same apply, just wait til last minute and see whats about, we are flexible, so suppose that will be the better way. Prices i have come across so far for flights in november are over double what we paid for the whole holiday this time!!
Are there no companies that offer cheap flights by booking in advance, as we are planning on going twice yearly, so can book well in advance?? or is it always best to leave it till the last minute?
we can go for allocated on arrival but then just book in at the hotel we stayed at last time, there seemed to be a lot of people doing that while we were there.
Its so cheap its easy to do and worth it if u know its a good hotel.0 -
I'm looking to get to Goa with the family this Christmas time - I know its peak season but the only time we can get off work. I can get pretty reasonable flights to Bombay then arrange transfers, main concern is a hotel.
Is it best to book directly, as early as possible, as late as possible or what? I want a week in a really top hotel with the family then once they go back will be spending a week with friends for the more authentic Goa experience.0 -
Whats pretty reasonable re the flights u have found? How far is bombay from Goa?
I think if u want top notch hotels u need to go south (sure someone will correct me if i am wrong) but i think north are all pretty basic, but we found ours great, and at around a tenner a night not bad, we will def book direct in future with hotel. Its just finding the flights at a good price,!!0 -

Sorry have you been to goa? The best is to change pounds. Give tips in rupees only 5 to 10 at a time though if you get a porter they want pounds (i never use them anyway) not euros or dollars due to the high rate. Just pay in rupees.
I am only going on my regualr trips there like 5 months last year and so far 1 month this year (10th trip this time roll on my 11th next year).0
