its ok, because the chav grasping class are not effected.
if you had never bought your house, if you never went without so you could save, you would be better off now.
this govt will make sure the workshy chav scum are all ok.
paid for by an ever dwindling work force.

wouldn't you have income from your savings?

i.e. spend your savings

That only works if you are of an age and income bracket (with a job) that in your remaining lifetime it won't really matter too much that you did. That you are young enough to recover, perhaps with two incomes...wouldn't you have income from your savings?
i.e. spend your savings
My "savings" are to buy a house with and I don't know when or where ... so I need them for when I have a job. Once I have a job I will know "where" and will look for a house. Any new/future job is unlikely to pay much at all (e.g. £15k might seem generous in a year), I also have no other investments nor a pension.
Meanwhile, those who have a job and a house full of goodies and holidays ... etc etc etc ... are whooping it up paying hardly a bean in interest on the vast sums they over-borrowed.
I now have to eat beans (eating only every 2nd day now), while they book a holiday and spend spend spend.0 -
Why would anybody 'go without' so that they could save.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

You go without a bit so you can save so that when you retire you go without the same bit, not go without a lot.0 -
I've never had a bean left over to save from. I sold my house, now I have that money, which will buy another house and I'll be back to not having any money again.0

PN, are you really only eating every second day? Surely getting a job at your nearest supermarket stacking shelves is an option? Part time...giving you time to look for your dream job and do your websites but give you an income?0 -
No, not yet. And no, I couldn't get a job at the local supermarket stacking shelves.... no matter what people say/think, those jobs go to older people or students, people who want part-time hours and a few extra. I want a proper full-time job. Also I am not the physical sort. While the shelves would be stacked immaculately, I'd have white-outs with the physical labour and pass out. I go sort of strangely grey.lostinrates wrote: »PN, are you really only eating every second day? Surely getting a job at your nearest supermarket stacking shelves is an option? No supermarket would take on somebody they thought might leave the minute the phone rings with a better offer. They'd be forever hiring/advertising.
Online's taking a knocking, advertising budgets are being cut, so there's less competition out there for those advertising, meaning they are getting it cheaper, meaning I earn less.... so right now working 15 hours/day to try to update some of my material to get a better result.0 -

They are always advertising that sort of job! Or almost always. But fair enough, you know what you arte/arne't capable of. I just got concerned when I misread that you were eating every second day. I have to eat very few calories for health reasons and I know how dreadful it can feel going without food, not to mention unhealthy. I'm just worrying about you! (no hugs from me though, worried, not huggy;))0 -

Sadly, life is tough. We all have to survive. Maybe you need to make some tough decisions. A 'fill-in' job is just that. Staff come and go in supermarkets et al - you don't need to tell them you aren't planning on staying until you retire.
Lots of us have had to make the best of things when times were rough.
Presumably, you sold at a good price and will be buying when prices have dropped. So can take that advantage into account.
If you don't eat properly, you won't have the strength to cope. So, please, prioritise sensibly.
In the end, though, it's your life and your choice.
