I had a quote for pruning an ash and an oak tree at the bottom of my garden. They wanted £1200
Need to get some more quotes, in the meantime can anyone give me an idea of what is a reasonable one?

Crikey seems steep. Tree surgery is dear though. I had a quote for a big Oak over £400.....got a friend with a chainsaw, ladder and a trailer in the end for a few beers. Sadly he emigrated so can't use him again!!0

To get a good idea of value for money you need to be a bit more in depth about the job. Ash trees can be anything from 2 foot to 20 foot as with most trees so no one will help out with such a vaque area of work or where the work is .0

The trees are very big, I guess about 60 ft, and haven't been pruned for 8 years. I am in North London. A neighbour recommended someone he knows, hopefully they'll be more reasonable.0

I just got a quote today, for pruning about 6-8ft off 3 trees, plus some leylandi, and chipping and getting rid of what's already in the garden (dh has already cut down 2 trees but not got rid of them yet). The price we got was £750 and I thought that was pricey. Maybe not!0

Did you get a price? My cousin does tree work so can ask what sort of price this work goes for. He is in East London so prices would be pretty similar. There are times when parenthood seems nothing but feeding the mouth that bites you Peter De VriesDebt free by 40 (27/11/2016)0
