HI all
Im doing an application form at the moment and Im finding myself stuck on this issue of critical analysis.
the JD says:
1.1To conduct a comprehensive literature review and undertake a critical analysis of the literature ....
This is quite a narrow research area ( social research) and I have been a consultative researcher on a very similar project before.
HOwever, How do you PROVE you have the ability to do "critical analysis" , I have undertaken lit reviews before at uni, but I cant seem to really word it right
What would you write for this, if you were to apply for this job?
Moneysaving is because this would mean a payrise!

Hi there,
there are various 'tools' one can use to critically appraise research.
For example:
the TAPUPAS model on the www.scie.org website...type in tapupas to see results.
Also the CASP(critical appraisal skills programme) tool available on www.phru.nhs.uk
I think the JD appears to want to show that you understand that appraisisng reserach is important so you consider the implications of bias, is it ethical, is it relevent etc etc.
Have a look at these examples as they may help you understand better what the JD wants from you.
Hope this helps0 -
OOOpps sorry have just re read your post and see you are already familiar with lit reviews so sorry if I have just posted stuff you already know!!!!0
