Yellow Line Completely Covered in Snow

Hi,
Got a Parking fine from the council for parking on a single yellow line under the prohibited hours.
This was last month when we had the heavy snow and as such, the road was completely snowed under so that the yellow line could not be seen what so ever (got pics to back this up).
Is the fact that the yellow line could not be seen because of the snow sufficient for me to appeal?
Thanks,
R

There should be a plate on a post showing restriction times, can't see them being covered in snow.
It pays these days to look everywhere and then some before leaving a parked vehicle.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -

However, the ticket may not be correct. Please post up ALL of the ticket, together with photos of the signs and lines, and someone will be along to advise you.0 -
Well i was wondering during the bad weather what would happen about these. As derrick says there may have been a plate - but not necessarily in a CPZ.
Interesting to see if a CPZ entry sign is sufficient to convey a restriction?
with such pics as back up I would think Councils should at least exercise discretion.
- and, as Sarah says, full PCN please. - and which Council (crucial).0
