Switching question
Hello everyone,
I am currently with EON and have been on the Energy Online Saver deal. I've just received a letter from them to say the it ends on the 1st April (nice day to choose!?). I was about to look at comparing anyway, and it gave me the shove. So, I've looked on the comparison site and I get a best deal with "FIRST UTILITY". My question is: does the comparison site take into account the discounts you can get on EON? First Utility are 3.098p per kwh for gas and 9.24p for electricity, compared to EON's 3.557p and 10.868 p respectively. When you also add the comparitive standing charges, First Utility is quite a big saving. However, at the bottom of the EON page it talks about the "dual fuel customer saving and the online customer saving, to a total of 14% off the annual bill". If this is not incorporated in the saving the comparison site says I will be making over they year, then it changes things quite a lot. Crikey, I hope that's not too boring and make sense?! Any advice would be appreciated - also, feedback from anyone who is with First Utility.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, the discounts are usually included. If you click the tariff name or tariff price you should get a window with the details for a manual double-check.
Eon's pricing and discounts are as reliable as Sainsbury's wine or DFS sales.0 -

Thanks for the replies. I've done that, and the way I read it, you would have to take the discount off yourself, so it's not like for like. Hmmm, obviously important for me to clarify one way or the other.
Thanks again.
