realistically, until they sell it, or the UK goes bust

Given that the government has bailed out any institution even Icelandic banks (in the UK) to guarantee savers cash I don't think the NR guarantee is that important to be honest, IMHO should the government not step in when savers deposits were at risk the backlash for all other institutions would be unthinkable.

Effectively I believe that our cash is safe in any UK institution. :)

I'd still like the official end date if anyone has it.

    Thanks.

When it is re- privatised. There is no 'official' date for that.
Does it 'officially' state there is 100% guarantee?

I thought the earliest date would be sometime next year

The clue is in the title to the thread.

Do you or don't you know the answer to the question asked, not the questions not asked?

The clue is in my answer. The Govt (or rather us, the tax payers) owns 100% of NR - its therefore guaranteed for as long as it takes for re-privatisation or the UK remains solvent. The only condition placed is that Govt will give atleast 3 months notice of any change, so the only date is a rolling 3 month date. Other than that, there is no date set
