Assuming you are flying to Barcelona airport and not what Ryanair describe as Barcelona (i.e. Girona) you could get a train from the airport to Barcelona Sants and then the train to Salou. There are also busses from the centre of Barcelona to Salou. Public transport in Spain is pretty good and much better value than Britain, but leave plenty of time in case of delays.

you just walk to station a few minutes acually within the airport. We just bought tickets when we got there and it took us to Sants station in Barcelona which then has trains to everywhere. Cannot remember how long the journey took but if you ahve a look on Barcelona Airport site should give you the info you need.

It's a bit of a walk (about 300 yards) to the airport station, but there are luggage trollies and no roads to cross. Here's a site with information.

There's also a bus direct from the airport to Port Aventura four times a day. See http://www.alsa.es/portal/site/Alsa

I've taken the train direct from the centre of Barcelona, Port Aventura has its own train station. You then have a roughly 10 min walk past the resort hotels to the park. Don't remember the costs but you cold check on the renfe (spanish train operator) site by putting in your travel details.

There is some excellent information on Salou at www.salou.co.uk

Also, they have a forum at http://pub23.bravenet.com/forum/1896262896 that is packed with questions and answers.

On the www.salou.co.uk go to the transport section and it has detailed information on trains etc etc http://www.salou.co.uk/PagesUK/transportsUK.html

You are going to have a ball, Portaventura is fab :j
