Dear all
i am not sure i am post this in the right plce at all, so apologies in advance.
I think me and my sister are in dire need of help.
we both live in Uk, however we originally from Italy. this week our mother passed away, living just the two of us.
and we don't know where to start. she got a house and a martgage, possibly some loans, some valuable assests as antique forniture, paitings etc.
as you can gather i am at a bit of a loss. has anyone got any experience of dealing with mortages in Italy???
thanks, Resi

Resi, I sympathise but think you need an Italian site giving advice, as the ways of dealing with it there may be very different.0

I was really thinking of the whole thing, Resi: not just the mortgage, but her debts, her other assets, finding her will (if she had one), getting the legal right to deal with her affairs (here that's called Probate).Resi_in_Italy wrote: »Thanks Biggles

You referred to 'mortgages in Italy', I assume that means your mother was resident in Italy when she died?
If so, I doubt if anyone on these forums will have the knowledge to advise you on the Italian law in all these matters.0
