I made a mistake and joined Greasy spoon(sorry greasy palm) Nothing wrong with the company but not for me. My problem is that I want to uninstall their program Rebate Catcher. Whilst its on add/remove programs it will not do so- installation log not found. Tried searching for it, no luck. Tried Ccleaner to uninstall, no luck. I've searched both partitions on the hard disk but it is not visible anywhere. Now I can usually find things but this has me stumped. As add/remove says the prog file is 1,905.00mb I want rid of it. No reply to query on website nor am I able to redownload the program to set up an installation log.
Any ideas out there?
Peter.

It is really annoying when that happens, I had it recently with a programme I installed. Presumably (like me) your OS doesn't have system restore or you would have tried that. I don't think it is possible to get rid of the problem other than a re-installation and hope that the log is installed this time, which you've tried but can't do, or hacking away at the registry. I had to resort to the latter after deleting the programme folder. Obviously I took a copy of the registry before I pruned away at it.0

when you click remove it gives you the option to fix it also, have you tried this? then maybe unistall it :-/0

Peter,
If the install log has been lost then simply install Rebate Catcher again then go through the add/remove programs in Windows and it will work.
BTW the memory alllocation to Rebate Catcher is a small reporting bug - it's not actually using up that much memory!

Neil,
Thanks for your reply, I must be daft but I cannot now find the rebate catcher on your website. When I click on rebate catcher I am forwarded to a login page then to a page which does not have the download on it. Where is it?
Moonie,
Regretably there is no option to change the program, it goes straight to 'installation log not found'I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
I'm your member's husband. The other night, I had the problem of Internet Explorer opening automatically multiple times without stopping. And I hadn't even opened a link to the internet, so each page merely had the usual error message. After running anti-spyware programs, a Browser Hijack Object was detected; this was GreasyPalm. The program removed it; when I looked in the computer registry, I saw lots of entries for GreasyPalm and removed them. We haven't had the problem of IE opening automatically since. Were we just unlucky?0

programs own unistall file works better than windows detected add/remove feature. try running that.
Is the program still on your system I mean can you still run it. If you can you can find where the program is installed
right click on the shortcut, select properties, click on find target. run the uninstall file.0
