Calculate and compare your total annual price with the comparison sites' estimates. It's always sensible to double-check even when your tariff is listed correctly.

You are comparing a standing charge tariff to a no-standing charge tariff. They are different. Doesn't the comparison site have the details of the standing charge tariff?

Use a comparison site that has both the energyonline extra saver 5 tariffs?

(They are available with and without a standing charge)

Not sure what site you are using but energyhelpline has both tariffs in the list.
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

    Ha, ha, Jd87. I didn't notice that.

OP, they are both the same price (as makes no odds - [STRIKE]thruppence[/STRIKE] nine pence difference per quarter).

    Hi mcgregor944

Not sure what comparison site you are looking at but the Energy Online Extra Saver version 5 was withdrawn last year.

It has been replaced with another online tariff. This is the version 12 which is available either with or without a Standing Charge.

As jd87 says, you need to compare like with like when looking at tariffs with or without standing charges.

Prices depend on which region you live.

The version 5 tariff you are currently on comes to an end on 31 March 2009.

As per the rules of the forum, I am unable to discuss prices/discounts here but if you would like more specific details drop me a PM with your address and property number. I will be happy to help. :)

Apart from comparing a standing charge tariff to a non-standing charge tariff, the prices are the same.

    i.e. electric
your rate: 10.836 pence per kWh
comparison site tier 2 rate: 10.836p

    standing charge:
your rate: 40.131 pence per Day
comparison site rate: 40.130 pence per day - based on premium of 16.275p (27.111p - 10.836p) per tier 1 unit for 900kWh p.a.

    gas
your rate: 3.5574 pence per kWh
comparison site tier 2 rate: 3.557p

    standing charge:
your rate: 21.8295 pence per Day
comparison site rate: 21.829 pence per day - based on premium of 16.275p (6.530p - 3.557p) per tier 1 unit for 2680kWh p.a.
