Are Right Move using cheeky tactics?

Have been using the same search in right move for some time now and have found that several SSTC properties have not been listed for almost 6 months as available for sale. Are Right Move resurecting sold properties to look as though more properties are selling or am I just paranoid?

You mean they've been SSTC for more than 6 months?

It's not rightmove that does it - it essentially a database. It's the estate agents. Sometimes they haven't completed yet. I'm sure some agents might leave a pretty house or one in a popular street up for a longer than they should.

Some EA are a bit snidey about what they list. I reckon one of mine has at least 10% sold properties still listed ...

I've seen a few I've been looking at 'disappear' from RM recently.

Propertybee tells me they went straight from 'Available' to 'Not Listed'.

Now if I were an EA I would want to advertise the fact that I'd made a sale, and leave them on their as 'SSTC'.

I reckon I'll see these same properties pop up again at lower prices as 'new listings' to avoid the Propertybee history...

Or of course the sellers have decided to rent out as they were having no luck with selling, or have withdrawn from the market for the same reason.

Either way IMO when something flips from 'Available' straight to 'Not Listed' i doubt it's been sold.

Oh yeah thats true. Check out the same area on rightmove's rented bit - property bee works with that too.
You'll find some familiar properties I bet.

I think that you are right - a property that goes from "Available" to "Not Listed" has been withdrawn from the market (either possibly to be rented or the seller has just given up - can't get the sort of price they want in the current climate....). I have seen this happen to a few properties here...

If you are curious about any specific property - and can remember which estate agent it was on with - you could always contact the estate agent directly and ask...

Quite a few properties i enquired about on right move were under offer and subsequently sold but did stay on the site and never had "under offer" or "sstc" displayed.

I would have thought it would have been better for the EAs to show they are selling properties than to pretend they have more to sell than they have.
