Thanks everyone!! I shall definitely investigate further and give it a go.

We often see huge tubs of cream marked down because they're near their sell-by date and wish we had a use for it - other than directly applying it to the hips, of course.

I freeze blocks of butter but never tried it with margerine

Butter and margarine both freeze well Cream will freeze if whipped first (but not beaten or bound and gagged!)

it's also an economical way of using double cream that is on the reduced counter
