centerparcs holland and possible short break to disneyland paris on route!

We have booked a week to centerparcs in Holland and were thinking of taking a ferry or the tunnel to calais, then somehow fitting in a short break to disneyland beforehand.

Has anyone done this??

Centerparcs is booked from the 10th to the 14th April and would like to visit disneyland beforehand

Not sure if this realistic or not, especially with 3 children!!!!!!!!!!!

Please be honest!!

  • about 10 years ago we had a family holiday to a centreparcs in eastern holland and it was fantastic - that should be great! I think you can do a lot of disneyland in a day (and i nearly wrote eurodisney there so i must be getting older!) so it shouldn't take too much time. can't help on logistics i'm afraid, but i know the rac routefinder (http://rp.rac.co.uk/routeplanner) covers europe, so that might be able to give you an idea of driving times. We did Eurodisney in a day - easily ... easy to find .... very expensive inside for food etc. but we got 'free' tickets so that lopped off about a hundred quid for the day (Amex Points from Company Credit Card), stayed in a fab hotel about 5k away on the train route for £40 for 4 (think it was an Ibis Hotel). Drove to hotel, parked in car park, got tube to Disney .... kids and hubs loved it but not my cup a tea. Have a good time!!

Very bizarre...I am sat here with my husband talking about going to Holland centerparcs in august and trying to fit disney in somehow...Probably go by train or drive to paris...unsure yet....There's plenty of theme parks in holland I think..Eiftling looks good and also Duinrell looks quite good..I think theres a lot to do in holland if we don't make disney...

Thanks very much to you all for your comments... good to hear its not unrealistic!!

centerparcs Holland is really cheap.. cost 255 euros for the week and just found out we can get a ferry from dover to boulogne for £70..

Just need to get the disneyland side of things at a bargain price which I'm sure is going to be hard in April!

Eftling is a lovely theme park...my kids loved it. Its beautiful too ...flowers and woods etc. And not so commercial or busy as Disney. Also another called Walibi was very good too.
There is also another theme park in Bottrop Germany which is very close to Dutch border which is also very good.

Spaggy..Are you thinking of driving to Disney??..We drove last summer and stayed at a Holiday Inn 5-10 mins drive from disney which cost us about £40 for a family room including breakfast..It was the smaller holiday inn at Bussy st george..We also bought the tickets on the disneyland website as they were a few euros cheaper as we knew the date we were going so they were dated tickets and we got a hopper ticket for the same price as a day ticket to disney so that was a good deal...

    Hi Pudding
Yes we were thinking of driving, am I right in saying it will take 3-4 hours to get there from Calais/Boulogne?

Did you book the holiday inn by phone? I couldnt find Bussy st george on their website ..

Tickets are coming up at around £300 for a 2 day hopper pass (for the 5 of us)... is it best to do both parks or is one enough?

the eftling is amazing - i haven't been in years but as a kid it was the best theme park i went to - the bins all said thank you when you put rubbish in them and to a small child like me that was more impressive than any of the rides!! (although the rides were pretty good too!)

You will be going a long way off track if you go to disney first. It's about 3 hours from Boulgne to disney and then up to Holland with 3 kids - I don't think I would like it.
We went to centreparcs in Holland, drove up from Calais and it took about 3/4 hours and not a very easy journey if I remember rightly. Centreparcs was great and like you say, very cheap.
    I haven't got one!

Hi spaggy,I booked the holiday inn on their website but I see it's been removed..I called the call centre and they said you have to book direct with the hotel now..Bizarre...Anyway we also stayed at the tulip inn which cost us the same price around £40 for a family room...No breakfast though but it was only 5 euros each when we went 23rd of december last year..The hotel is a 2 minute walk from Bussy st george station...they have corner shops and restaurants next to it...I booked direct online with the tulip inn website..As our hopper ticket was the same price as a disneyland ticket we went into the studios for a few hours...My kids are 3 and 11 and we went in for about 4 hours then went back into disney..Personally I wouldn't do the studios again..The best bit was seeing all the characters at the entrance as there wasn't as many people crowded around them as there is at disneyland..Hope this helps..A bit long I know
