Hi know you are newish but you should try the search facility at the top. There is another link for Hawaii HERE which may help you.
Never flown with Virgin but flew with AA many years ago when they had extra legroom which was excellent but think they have got rid of that now. Just to let you know it's about another 6 hours when you get to LAX, and there was a hell of alot of Japanese tourists about with there bloody cameras.**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI0 -
The time difference is quite a lot, I'd stop at LA and on the east coast USA, as well. I think you might be able to get a free stop over if you book via a travel agent.
I think virgin code shares with http://www.americawest.com/awa/ http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/whereintheworld/codesharepartners/index.jsp to get you to honoluluPosts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
many thanks for these replies0

Air Canada also goes to Hawaii, if you fancy a stop over at Vancouver.
United is the major US airline to Hawaii, you could stop at Chicago with them.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
TripAdviser rates it as 16 out of 102 hotels in Honolulu so it should be good!
Have stayed in Waikiki a couple of times and thought I'd like to try the Hilton sometime - when funds allow! But it's BIG. Most of the Waikiki places are big though - very few 'personal' places there.
As for flights, once you set your mind to the fact that it's a LONG way - 19+ hours at best - It can be enjoyable. But don't think that a 5 hour stop-over means you can see Los Angeles or San Francisco! Tried it once - then realised we were too tired to enjoy it!0 -
Read my posts on the earlier thread that is linked by chalky_bertie
Good info re the BMI card and a free flight.
If you fly with AA you can have a FREE stopover on the way out and back at the first International hub you at which you arrive (Probably LAX, but possibly BOS if you fly from Manchester)
On the way back you can stop at ORD.
All depends if you havethe time\money, but it will break up the very long journey.
I've booked a Hotel through pricline for my first few days. I don't want luxury at that stage, just a clean bed in a good location.
I'm looking to book a condo for the week in Maui.
I also got a FREE interisland flight through using free Virgin airmiles, (they partner with Hawiian airlines) not sure if you need a flight or if you have time to get the miles.
These flights are about $79 each way but may come down due to competition.
If you're brave you could try priceline for the hotel, saves $$$$.
When are you going?
My first night is October 31st0 -

When we went to Hong Kong last year (Thanks to BA and this site :money:)
the 7-11 was still open at past midnight....
Anyway back to topic:rolleyes:
I have bought the excellent Maui Revealed book, from Amazon 3rd party seller and it's fantastic.
I suggest the OP (if he's still here) buy the Oahu Revealed book for some great tips and good reviews of Hotels.0 -
I'd recommend Kauai over the other bigger islands0
