Local Authority lists?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but does anyone know if there is any free Internet info available which gives the names of every local authority in the UK and the post codes that comes within that authority?

I would be grateful for any advice.

Any correlation between post codes and local authority boundaries are accidental. I doubt if you will find any sole source of information on the internet. Ordinance Survey on the other hand do have a series of maps based on postal areas, LA etc

There is a site where you can put in a post code and it tells you which LA it is in. Can find it if it's any use to you, but it's bookmarked at work!

The Office of National Statistics can provide the NSPD which can be used for this information, although it's comprised mainly of information on license from the Royal Mail and is rather expensive. We have multiuser licenes here and it runs into thousands of pounds a year to use.

Earlier this month you very kindly gave me info on postcodes and which town etc to find them.

I don;t suppose you have the names of each local authority in the UK within your information?

For my own intrest I have extracted this list from the drop down box and have put it in to an Excel file I could email you it, PM me if you want.
