The best mouthwash is saltwater, especially when you feel you are about to get a cold. 'Snorting' the stuff, then letting it drip down the back of your throat and back into your mouth is one of the best disinfectants ever.
I have to confess that I have Colgate Plax as well, mostly for the times I cannot be bothered to dissolve salt in warm water early in the morning (not an AM person).Good, clean fun....MFW #11 2015 £7657 / £88800 -

Hope this helps x

arkonite_babe wrote:I have been using the dentyl ph mouthwash and I think it's great. It does exactly as it says in the TV ad, you do see what bits of debris have been lurking in your mouth after brushing and flossing
But water does the same thing. It's only because plaque is generally colourless so you don't see anything with water. I strongly suspect that Dentyl PH contains something that colours the plaque so you can actually see it - rather like those disclosing tablets.
A mouthwash or any liquid will NOT remove plaque - only brushing does that. Having brushed properly, any old liquid (like good old water) will simply flush the remaining plaque from your mouth.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -

You don't swallow the saltwater, you spit it out! For that matter, no one should be swallowing ANY kind of mouthwash...some of the high alcohol ones are very dangerous when swallowed.Good, clean fun....MFW #11 2015 £7657 / £88800 -

We have Tesco's own brand. As well as it being economical, it also contains Xylitol, which is a totally natural sugar which prevents plague, cavities, etc. and even helps to reverse existing damage to teeth. For anyone interested, Xylitol has just been approved for sale in selected stores of Tesco, Sainsburys and Holland & Barrett and can be used in cooking, etc. just like sugar, but with about half the calories and loads of health benefits.Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0
