I've buy the Boots own Total Fresh mouthwash, which my Husband thinks it's as good as Listerine. I can't remember exactly how much it is but it's much cheaper then the brand makes and is always on bogof.
Hope this helps x0 -
Vinegar? Works for everything else, apparently! :rotfl:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

What does hubby need the mouthwash to do? It doesn't do very much at all ... honest!
If it's a breath freshener, then a tsp of peppermint oil in a glass of water would do the same job. If it's plaque control, then ditch the mouthwash altogether and use interdental brushes like theseWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
Has the dentist told him he needs to use a mouthwash?
Then this is probably as a preventative measure as he may not have good oral hygiene and need the back up of a flouride mouthwash.
If not cleaning with a toothbrush, using interdental brushes and flossing is all you should need to do.
If he still had bad breath then a trip to the dentist is advised.

buy him a tongue scraper. asda sell the safe and sound brand and they are 99p i think. they are brill for getting rid of gunk on your tongue you didn't realise was there and freshens your breath naturally by removing the bacteria.
better still get him to stop smoking - very money saving! married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090 -
If you want to buy mouthwash, they do a good one in lidls for about 55p per bottle. My OH was using Listerine, until I got him the blue mouthwash called "Dentalux" which is an antibacterial mouthwash, but contains alcohol. Lidls do two other types of mouthwash as well, but i'm not sure what they are like.A woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water.:D0

I have been using the dentyl ph mouthwash and I think it's great. It does exactly as it says in the TV ad, you do see what bits of debris have been lurking in your mouth after brushing and flossing :eek:0

I use Boots own brand (3 for 2 offers very often). However I do like the taste of Listerene, and don't think the Boots one is up to stratch on that.
However a cheap way to clean your mouth is to gargle salt water before going to bed."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
To be honest these chemical mouthwashes do more harm than good , they have sugars in them that rot your teeth and loads of rubbish. If you have to use one get a natural one like Toms Of Maine which is all natural and has essential oils to freshen breath and other goodies! but it is expensive.0
