Ooh dear most visa debit cards (nationwide don't) have an additional charge cause when the cards processed its classed as a cash advance, as above lloyds, halifax are bad about £2.75 per £100, people think cause its a debit card and not credit its free, definitely not, hope yours is 1 of the good ones.:eek:0 -

As others have said, hope it was a nationwide debit card or you may be in for another shock
If it wasnt a nationwide card here is a list of charges

All the online rates are better as they dont have to pay rents to the landlords -Tesco and BAA for example.
Rates in Tesco can be better than airport rates as the rents to Tesco are a lot less than what BAA charge.Lightbulb moment Dec 2005 - debt £23700

I just don't really understand that if both the internet & instore services were both owned by Travelex, how can they offer vastly different rates?
I thought Tesco currency would be Tesco currency, regardless of what method of purchase I used with them - oh well, lesson learned!
Because the costs of running the internet service are considerably lower than running a shop service.
The Post Office have (at least) 3 different rates - online, bureau de change, and preorder for offices that don't carry stock - there's quite a difference between them. So it's not just Tesco/Travelex0
