Hi all
Apologies if this is not the right place for this thread but I didn't know where else to put it.
I have a problem with a certain online DVD rental company.
I went on their website, clicked on the monthly deal that I wanted which was about £8, only to get a message flash up saying 'thanks, your credit card will be charged £29.00 today!' Understandably I was a little annoyed as this was not the deal I had chosen. After trying in vain to find help about this on their website I eventually e-mailed them on the same day and asked them to just close my account. I received an e-mail back within the hour saying this had been done and my card details removed from their records.
However, 4 days later AFTER closing the account they DID charge £29 to my card! When I asked them for a refund they said it would be sent by cheque within the next 30 days. I find this unacceptable as they only took 4 days to take my money and will take a whole MONTH to give it back. Is there any phrase or law I can throw at them to get them to speed up my refund??
