in Credit cards
I have two credit cards, one debit card and a cash card.
The cash card is my 'social card'. It's a special card from HSBC called 'The Basic Account card' which was something Ihad to research to find. It's a card with no chip and no signature strip. You can only get money out of a cashpoint with a pin.
I can carry this card and have my wallet stolen whilst knowing my cards are safe in a safe.
Unfortunately this xmas I went out with my cards intent on finding some bargains in the Jan sales. After a hard day bargain hunting I came to the conclusion there was nothing I wanted or needed and retired to the pub with my friend for the evening. After two pints we caught the tube and I noticed my cards had gone. The wallet had been lifted!
£1700 later I'd learnt my expensive lesson and now leave them at home again!
My parents want me to get card insurance - but I can't really see the point now chip and pin is in fashion <in the uk>, especially since the banks protect me against fraud as long as my pin number isn't being used...
So is it worth it, how much does it cost and where's the best place to look for it if at all.
