Why are whoopsies called whoopsies?

I think its just really because the item hasnt sold by the date, so they have to "wooops!" reduce it. dunno
Although in my work its just 'reduced' and for anyone who hangs around when the person is reducing or picks up everything and mixes everything up when the person is trying to sort it out. please don't, it's sooo god damn ANNOYING. just want to smack you and tell you to f off ! :eek:0 -
I'm glad this is getting cleared up a bit now :j
I had never heard the term 'Whoopsie' for reduced produce til I joined MSE, we always call it the scav basket
'Whoopsie' to me reminds me of Frank Spencer, people of a certain age will remember0 -
I have started going shopping on a sunday about 3 - 3.30 and my husband follows round the lady who reduces everything, we now call her the whoopsie woman LOL Got some great bargains this sunday just gone! Chicken steaks, they were 2 packs for £5 got them for 50p a pack! Chocolate milkshake 2 ltrs 10p and bottle! love my whoopsies i do LOL0

I remember whoops being stuck on Asda things although not shopped there for so long.
On the thought of where this should be.....is there anywhere a shopping guide (forum or main board), where things like whoopies, stock placement, supermarket tactics are discussed ?
If so perhaps a link to that would be useful to have on, say Grocery Challenge thread or as a sticky somewhere.....just a thought and by all means someone point out why this would not work.
xErmutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.
