EON Not been using readings

I wonder if you can help, I have been with Eon around 9 months now and for that whole time they have had the wrong type of meter on there system for me even though they have had people out to check and read the meter several times.

They have now sent me a huge bill again based on the wrong meter, I have looked at my account on-line and every single meter reading either that I have submitted or by the meter reader have not been used.

I am today waiting for them to come and look at the meter again today to check which type it is, but where do I stand on this. Its a huge bill that I can't really afford to pay. I have submiited the correct meter to them several times and meter readings, so are they not the ones at fault if I haven't been paying the correct DD amount.

Hope that all makes sense, let me know your thoughts.

    Do you mean gas?

In nine months, how many units have you used? Imperial or metric?

How many kwh are you being charged for?

When we moved here we had a pre-payment meter which had a day and night reading this was changed by EDF a couple of months after we moved to the property and the new meter was the one we had when we started with EON

So eon installed a single tariff meter in November.

How many kwh (meter units) have you used since then? And what is won billing you for?

    Hi 27meadow

Could be a couple of reasons for this.

Is the serial number on the meter the same as that on your bill?

You also say the readings used are all wrong. Are they estimates?

We need to make sure we are charging for the right meter. It may be we have your address attached to the wrong meter. Or, it may be because the meter was changed before you changed supply to E.ON the database was not updated correctly.

As I say, there could be different reasons for the error and I don't want to give you the wrong advice.

I would be happy to take a look for you. If you would like me to do this drop me a PM with your Post Code and property number.

Also, if we have not sent you a bill for 9 months a payment arrangement can be set up to spread the amount over a similar period.

    Hope this helps.

The serial number they are useing is not the same as the one on the meter somebody has already been out to check this and it should have been updated but wasn't so eon are sending someone else out again who was due to come this morning.

I have been billed every quarter and have been paying my DD every month. Like I say on my on-line account you can see when I and also meter readings have been supplied but none of them have been used for billing and they have just been estimated the whole time even though theu were supplied I assume as they woluld not look correct for the type of meter that eon have me down for.

I will PM you with my postcode and house number.

    Thanks for your help.
