Wrong installation instructions

Options
Hi there. I bought a SMEG built in microwave last year for my new kitchen which was being custom built. My kitchen fitter built a unit as per the installation instructions and twice called SMEGs technical dept. to check details. However when he came to put the microwave into the custom built unit, it didn't fit. Again he called SMEG and was given the same information as previous. He made a few modifications and managed to get the microwave to fit into the unit.

It has since transpired that the instructions that were sent with the mocrowave were wrong, as was the information given out by SMEG'S technical dept. Now SMEG say the installation is incorrect, that there is not enough ventillation around the microwave for it to work correctly.

The micorwave does work fine for now, but I've had a kitchen custom built to accommodate this built in micorwave which I'm told is fitted incorrectly and unlikely to last. Surely I'm entitled to some compensation? I have been in contact with them and so far all they've offered is the correct installation instructions, pah!

Any advice would be much appreciated
