Genuine investment...or scam?

Has anyone heard of Maxnet? I did a google search for tax free investments and they came up. It seems to be some kind of spread betting scheme, you sign over a lump sum of £1000 or so and they use a pooled fund to place bets.
The profits they claim seem impressive, and tax free! But is it all too good to be true?

As I know a professional gambler I'm always interested in the subject. It sounds interesting but in my opinion if you've got a great system you keep it to yourself and use your own money (as my friend does). If your system isn't so great you sell it to punters to risk their money instead.0

If it seems so then it probably is!A cynic is a man who knows the price of everything but the value of nothing. (Oscar Wilde)

Wow this sounds great.
You give someone money to bet with, if they win they take a huge chuck (or all) the profits. If they lose, you lose, they lose nothing.
Then again they could just take your money and run!0 -

ok ok I am getting the sarcasm! But does anyone have any real experience of this scheme or similar? They openly declare that they are not governed by the FSA, but is there anyway of checking whether they are a valid outfit?0
