Steam cleaner for carpet?

In the past I've always had a company come to clean my carpets but now I'm a money saver, I'm thinking of hiring a steam cleaner. Does anyone have any tips when using them? Also what can I expect to pay per day and of course, where can I get the cheapest?? :smileyhea

Several shops such as Homebase, Focus and Morrisions rent out Rugdoctor machines and sell the necessary cleaning fluids. See https://www.rugdoctor.co.uk for details. Likely to be similar price from whatever shop you go to at approx £25- £30 for the house. Worth buying the larger size bottle of carpet detergent if you intend to repeat on annual basis. Machine is easy to use and job can easily be completed in a few hours. Frightening how much dirt comes out of even a clean looking carpet.0

I think you would have to be careful with a steam cleaner
If there was any wool in the carpet I don't think it would take kindly to high temperatures.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
