Well at least they pay the bonus - Nationwide just screw the savers over!

    That said 7p is shocking!

    Thanks everyone for your posts.

I do not have a savings account with them but will earn my money from a joint mortgage.

Last year it was 2 lots of £40 so this year I guess it could be a total of £30 ish!!

    Last year I received £152.03 - this year it's £55.54.

I have a mortgage at BofE base rate +0.74% for the life of the mortgage so, all in all, I'm happy with the smaller reward.

I rang them and was told that mine had been paid in on 28th Feb, so I went down to pick it up. Almsot exactly half of what I got last year. I've only got one year of motgage left with them, so once that's cleared, I'll probably get "buttons" next year for my "Bonus Reward"!

The merger with the co-op will mean greater membership benefits especially if you use other outlets like the co-op supermarket. You build up points if you have your home/motor insurance and it only costs £1 to join.

    - You can earn the same for motor/home insurance at Co-op even if the two don't merge
    - Co-op's savings rates are even worse than Britannia's, so they'll only end up pulling them down more
    - Members lose voting rights over further aquisitions etc, as Britannia will become a subsidiary of Co-op
    - Also loss of long-term member x1.5 / x2
