If you don't need to use the steradent tabs, instead of giving them away I'm told they are good for cleaning the toilet bowl, [haven't tried myself but maybe someone can confirm this]. Poundland stores sell a similar product to steradent in the same size tubes.
Pretty good at saving 1p, 2p and 5p coins but will try the 20p's. Shame about the smartie tubes though.

  • I can get these tubes from work, think they would look at me strange whwn I say I want the empty tubes LOL

    Hi,
Love smarties, shame about the box. I used to save £1 coins in the plastic 35mm film cases, they fit neatly in my handbag too. I've now progressed to the £2 club and thankfully I dont get as many of them as I do £1 coins :D
I use steradent for descaling my kettle.......scrounged......I have my own teeth ;)
    ;) debt free...yippee
  • Good idea - count me in!

My purse is going to be very empty these days!

They are much better used as £1 saving tubes... but if you are looking for uses of the tablets at the same time can i also suggest you use them (2 in bucket of cold water) for overnight soaking of your white clothing really does shift stubborn marks before washing in machine.
Again hope this is of some help

  • What a great idea, too many coins can destroy a good purse anyway. I would not like to pull out a steradent tube in a shop, so probably would benefit from the money saved this way.
PS I recently bought a smarty tube containing only Black and White Smarties. I will have to experiment with the Hexagonal smarties packaging!

A small start is still a start!
    Best wishes

  • I bought a packet of smarties.

You can get 20p in them but if you can't afford 20p, 10ps also fit in them.

However as they are made soley of cardboard, be careful when opening.
