Please guide me

I had very minor accident no personal injury involved , my car got reverse hit someone car with my mistake .

Please note I have third pary insurance

Intially I thought it is not so major so i have told him that I am ready to pay him without passing him my insurance details to him , he was agreeed at that time and afterward he check with his garage , he gave me quote of range of 700 - 800 pound. It was really minor accident and it should not have cost that much so I have told him I will provide him my insurance details and he can claim from them. I did not give him my insurance details because I want to talk to my insurance guy first

on weekend I have forgot to call him and today I got called from his solicitor for asking my insurance details. So I have just called my insurance and they have told me that they have already has details for accident and someone senior will give me call tomorrow.

I am bit worried now ... I know I have made lot of mistake in this process ..

My question is ..

1) Will my insurance company will make my insurance claim void because I have not inform them on time

2) Will it be very big liability since solicitor are involved

Please note he is from cab company so I guess he has some understanding with them

    Don't worry.

Just give your insurers all the details of the incident and leave them to sort it out.

    The solicitor's involvement isn't significant.

You will not get any NCB for this year, and will lose some (if you already have built some up) when your renewal comes due. You won't have anything to pay out to the third party now, though all repairs to your own car are down to you to pay.

Did you say he was from a cab company as in taxi company? If so he is probably going to claim for loss of earnings and / or a hire vehicle.

As Quentin said it should not be a problem with your Insurers as its common for people to want to pay for a claim themselves and then change their mind when they see the cost involved.

If you have an accident again in the future its worth taking photos of the damage to the other vehilce, the driver and any passengers and noting their names. It can come in handy if the other driver puts in a claim and you dispute what they are saying

Please stop worrying, just let the insuranc people deal with it.
Thats what you pay them for.
