yea i agree, if she was diggin she shoulda kept it to herself... but at least u know what shes REALLY like. defo not to be trusted. for all u no, she's been slaggin u off about it...
if she brings it up again or asks why its 'private', then the woman has some SERIOUS issues.
she thinks shes being smart but is looking rather foolish with her actions on something sooo non work related!*~* Valued Opinions - £40; Quidco - £92.77; Lightspeed Panel - £40; My Survey - £20; Consumer Pulse - £190; Toluna - £44; Ciao - £42.47; GfK - £50; Pigsback - £20; ABAi - £10; Panelbase - £10.45 ; Grassroots - £50 *~* Blue Text = Account now closed

At work every time we log onto the internet (for work use) we have to confirm we are complying with the company IT policy.. there is a summary that mentions that we should not mention the company name in way that could be derogatory in blogs/forums/message boards etc
I would always be really careful what I posted up about anyone else anyway - and that includes my work or anyone there!Indecision is the key to flexibility

Still..why did she feel the need to print it out and show it around to people? Surely there must be something wrong with that?
edit: and yes I know..it was originally on a public website yada yada yada etc etc...but that was something *I* did. Why is she allowed to print it off and show people?
- Shes a very inadequate person
- Yes, of course, its wrong to do that. Many people dont hesitate before overstepping the boundaries and doing something wrong though - as you've discovered
- She isnt allowed to print it off - but she has done so nevertheless
Anything you have done in a personal capacity is clearly nothing to do with your employer - but dont forget this has happened and as Oh Really says remember that she clearly isnt your friend after all and treat her accordingly.0 -
Think it is very naive Sidekick2 to write something (a) in public and complain if people read it (b) expect not to be judged on word/photos and with whom you are associated (c) expect it not to be used against you (d) think it will never affect your job! A bit like dropping a £50 note in the centre of London and expecting it to still be there next week.
I hope you have not been filling on your twitter or this MSE page in company time? All your derogatory comments and innuendoes regarding work will have an affect on your career and relationship with your boss/company!
If you are client facing, for example if they are any: the photos of you and your friends being Sh*tless on the pavement on Saturday evenings does reflect on the company that hires you and may tarnish their good name by association. Don't blame your boss for your mistakes! You know the story: premier footballer, fashion model, etc. gets caught sniffing white powder, and the next thing they area jobless.
All your comments and association also reflect on your job, just think of those that joined the BMP and were outed. Quite a few lost their job. I would not want, or trust unbiased advice from a biased person, or be aided by someone who does not want to be there.
Whenever you go for a job 99% of all employers will put your name into google, facebook etc. to see what comes out and what kind of person they are hiring.
When you work for a company, take it as a given that your emails are monitored/logged/stored (even if you delete them) and expect (a)the time you spent on the internet to be logged (b) every site/page you visit and the times to be logged (c) and in some circumstances everything to you type including password to accounts are logged, even if they page is encrypted and has the padlock on the bottom (but the company has to disclose this as part of their policy) (d) expect management to run reports i.e login/logout times, computer and internet usage. (e) if there are any job issues, expect your page to be used against you, unless it states "I work for the greatest company on the world" AND you happen to have the reputation of Mother Teresa.
Some years back 4 of the 5 top internet users in our section were fired. The one who kept their job did large technical downloads and had a legitimate reason.
Welcome to the real world! Keep your private life private!GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time.

Rule no. 1 never ever slate your boss/company on a public forum, it will come back and bite you on the bum.
prospective employers do searches on the net, ie friends reunited etc etc just to see what type of person they are considering taking on.
Your boss did a childish thing, but you unfortunately gave her the crayons to do it.Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0 -

Sorry, but why is it wrong (in a legal sense)? Why can't she print it out - at home at least?
This information was in a public place to which anybody in the world has access. There is no more reason why the boss should not print this out and show it round than some bit of celebrity gossip.
You may not like it (nor do I) but that is another matter.0 -
Look on the bright side - everyone who saw the print out now knows that she goes onto Twitter to research colleagues and therefore they know that there is a strong sniff of unprofessionalism about her. They are probably all sitting there wondering if she's managed to have a look at their Facebook, Bebo, Twitter etc etc etc etc. I think you have learnt an important lesson - bet you don't make the same mistake again ever.0

Blinking eck - she only said her job was boring. That would be something most of us have said at some time or other and I'm really shocked that such a comment could result in her being sacked.
I've just put my name into google and am really shocked because I have signed up to some of the downing street petitions. I haven't signed up to anything I'm ashamed of but I would not necessarily bare my soul to a potential employer. I really didn't give a thought to my privacy.
Trust me to have an unusual name too - I can't actually argue that they've mixed me up with anyone else. Well, you live and learn - I won't be putting my real name on anything on the internet ever again.I'll never be a Money Saving Expert while my kids are Mony Spending Experts.0 -
