Is my boss allowed to go on my twitter account and show my updates to co-workers?

Still..why did she feel the need to print it out and show it around to people? Surely there must be something wrong with that?


edit: and yes I know..it was originally on a public website yada yada yada etc etc...but that was something *I* did. Why is she allowed to print it off and show people?

As said by myself and other posters, she's allowed to show people because you put that information into the public domain. You gave her that right.

I agree it's odd, but I don't think she could be disciplined over it.

Anything you post on the internet can be printed off and shown to anyone - once you post it you have no control over it

Morally/ethically - what she did may not be correct but she was still within her legal rights

Ah well. Thanks anyway people.

Her profile is also public..perhaps I print out her updates and post them on the staff messageboard...it may not be correct but it appears it's still within my legal rights :-)

i think you'll do best not to stoop to her level...

make it private delete her as a 'friend' if u have her as one and not refer to it at work again. she'll soon get the message.

^ I was kidding :-)....I absolutley will not stoop to her level - and yes I have since made my profile private..will probably delete altogether. The dirty looks I manage to give should be enough.

Gotta admit though - What she did seems very unprofessional for someone of managerial status.

Tbh, Twitter is a waste of time. I can hardly keep up with conversations and have given up on the whole idea. Likewise with Facebook/Myspace.
