I have been offered a 51 reg KIA RIO 1.5I (01 ON) SE 1493cc 5DR for £995 (I dont know the mileage). Is this good? Has anyone owned one? Any good/bad reviews?

    Good enough wee cars from what I understand if a little boring price is OK but should be a little room for haggling depending on condition.

    You did ask, bless. Probably not a good buy, to say the least. Recommend you say what you can afford and ask the guys on here what they suggest, you could give a vague area of where you are, and someone nice may find you a car that would be better. Good luck!

    But, back to being helpful, for a grand you could get a half decent Mondeo, focus, Astra. Something more bombproof, might not ne as new as the Kia, but wont get laughed at as much lol. Parts will be easier too on the more mainstream stuff...

    Kia Rio is actually quite a conventional looking car and being from the far east will be reliable

    Indeed it is, almost an estate car, and very reliable.

    A good buy for under a grand.
